Dr. Oldoni Shares Research at 30th International Society for Forensic Genetics Congress in Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Dr. Fabio Oldoni, director of the Master's Program in Forensic Science and assistant professor of Forensic Science, presented at the 30th International Society for Forensic Genetics Congress in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from September 9-13.

During his presentation, Dr. Oldoni shared the latest results of a project he's working on at Arcadia regarding the evaluation of the dynamics of trace DNA evidence in pickpocket scenarios with the forensic DNA community.

He also co-authored a global study on both the progress of the Microhaplotype Working Group toward the selection of a consensus core set of loci for forensic use and the work from the Italian Speaking Working Group on updated recommendations on the collection of biological samples for forensic genetic testing in the medical-legal care of victims of sexual violence and/or abuse.

Dr. Oldoni also served on the esteemed selection committee for the Best Oral Presentation Award, comprised of academicians and forensic DNA scientists.

"It was awesome to be back to Santiago de Compostela for this renowned biennial international congress and meeting lifelong colleagues and new talented researchers who are contributing to shaping the future of forensic genetics," said Dr. Oldoni.
