The National Assembly adopted at first reading amendments to the State Budget Act of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2024. The amendments, submitted by the Council of Ministers, increase by 271 the priority projects under the Investment Programme for Municipal Projects.

With the amendment of the Investment Programme for Municipal Projects, the estimated amount of projects for the whole period becomes BGN 6.226 billion, of which BGN 4.553 billion for 2024, of which BGN 747.54 million are the funds from European Union projects.

The amendments to the State Budget Act for 2024 are proposed by the Council of Ministers on the basis of proposals from mayors of municipalities received by 30 June, the bill's motives state. The programme's budget was re-voted in April, with the first deadline expiring on 31 March.
