Department of Sanitation’s Trash and Recycling Collections Thanksgiving Schedule

Philadelphia - Earlier this year, the Parker Administration designated the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 29, 2024, as a City-observed holiday. As a result, City departments will be closed including the Department of Sanitation on this date. Therefore, there will be no trash and recycling collections on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Collections will resume on Saturday, November 30, with Thursday's materials collected on Saturday, November 30 and Friday's materials collected on Sunday, December 1.

In support of Mayor Parker's vision to make Philadelphia the safest, cleanest, and greenest big city in the nation, Sanitation Commissioner Crystal Jacobs Shipman reminds residents trash and recycling collections should be set out between 5 p.m. the night before collections and 7 a.m. the day of collections.
