Brush Fire in Franklin Park Leads to Arrest of Three Suspects

At about 11:10 PM on Wednesday, November 7th, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a fire in the area of 170 Morton St., resulting in the arrest of 33-year-old Jasen Levoy of Roxbury, 24-year-old Thomas Mullikas of Roxbury, and 25-year-old Augusto Bussio of Roxbury.

At about 10:30 PM, while in the area of Franklin Park near the Shattuck Hospital, a Boston Police Sergeant observed a fire burning and broadcasted his observations over the radio, requesting the Fire Department to respond. Shortly afterwards he observed a second fire in the area and again broadcasted his observations, requesting additional units to assist in case the fires had been set intentionally.

Multiple Officers responded to the area as well as an Officer from the Boston Police Drone Unit and a drone from the Boston Fire Department. Officers deployed a drone over Franklin Park, where he observed three individuals walking inside of the golf course in the area of the fires. Officers observed that there were three individuals throwing items, possibly rocks, at the Boston Fire Department drone in an apparent attempt to damage it then began running down a path in the park, in the direction of Jewish War Veterans Drive. Shortly afterwards, Officers on Jewish War Veterans Drive encountered three males coming out of the park. These males were identified as Jason Levoy, Augusto Bussio, and Thomas Mullikas. All three males were taken into custody at this time.

Jasen Levoy, Augusto Bussio and Thomas Mullikas are expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the charges of Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct.

Detectives from the Boston Police Arson Unit will be further investigating this incident.
