17 year old Arrested After an Attempted Armed Robbery

At about 11:10 PM, on Sunday, August 4, 2024, officers assigned to District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested a 17-year-old Juvenile Male on armed robbery charges.

Officers responded to the area of 1383 Commonwealth Avenue for a report of a fight involving a large group and a knife was shown. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim holding down the suspect and he was immediately placed into handcuffs.

Officers were advised that a group of individuals were attempting to steal the victim's moped. The victim attempted to stop the suspects and one of the males pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him. The victim was able to disarm the suspect, but the suspect began to punch him multiple times. The victim refused medical treatment.

The 17-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Armed Assault with Intent to Rob. He is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
