Upcoming and ongoing closures for Buck O'Neil Bridge work, Nov. 6-20

JACKSON AND CLAY COUNTIES - Crews with the Buck O'Neil Bridge project will make the following closures:

Wednesday, Nov. 6

• Crews will close the right lane on NB U.S. 169 from 6th St. to Richards Rd. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Crews will close the right turn lane on 5th St. at Broadway Blvd. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Crews will close the left turn lane on 6th St. at Broadway Blvd. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 11

• Crews will close 5th St. at Washington St. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Crews will close the ramp from 5th St. to WB I-70 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Ongoing closures through Wednesday, Nov. 20:

• 3rd St. at 4th St. will be closed
• 3rd St. at Woodswether Rd. will be closed

The previous Buck O'Neil Memorial Bridge was built in 1956. Construction on the new bridge began in 2021 and is scheduled to be completed on time, at the end of 2024. The Buck O'Neil Bridge carries U.S. Route 169 traffic over the Missouri River and serves as a key regional connection between downtown Kansas City and communities north of the river.
