City of North Charleston and North Charleston Police Department Announce $7,000 Signing Bonus for Certified Officers

North Charleston, September 6, 2024 - The City of North Charleston, in collaboration with the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD), is excited to announce a new incentive program aimed at recruiting certified law enforcement officers. Effective immediately, NCPD is offering a $7,000 signing bonus to any certified officer who joins the department. Additionally, current NCPD officers are eligible to receive a $7,000 bonus if they refer a certified officer who is subsequently hired by the department.
This initiative reflects North Charleston's commitment to public safety and its investment in building a strong, dedicated police force. The City and NCPD are focused on attracting experienced officers who are dedicated to serving the community and maintaining the high standards of professionalism and service that NCPD is known for.
Mayor Reggie Burgess expressed enthusiasm about the new initiative, stating, "We are proud to offer this incentive as part of our commitment to enhancing public safety and fostering a collaborative and effective police department.
