UW Names Interim University Ombudsperson

Narina Nunez, a professor emeritus in the University of Wyoming's Department of Psychology, has been named UW's interim university ombudsperson.

The Office of the Ombuds provides the university community an informal setting in which to share dilemmas, ideas and questions without fear of exposure, retaliation or recrimination. The office is committed to serving with the International Ombuds Association best practice principles: informal, confidential, impartial and independent.

Key services include:

-- Listening to concerns.

-- Providing information on university policies and procedures.

-- Providing information on how to make concerns known to the university.

-- Assisting in evaluating available options to resolve dilemmas or disputes.

"I am delighted and honored to once again serve the University of Wyoming in a role that helps build a supportive and resilient community," Nunez says. "I hope faculty, staff and students will reach out to me when dilemmas arise."

A nationwide search is underway for the next permanent university ombudsperson. All members of the campus community will have an opportunity to meet with and provide feedback on the finalists.

To schedule an appointment, email [email protected], or visit the Office of the Ombuds website for more information.
