Metro adjusting six D.C., Maryland bus routes starting Sunday

Effective Sunday, Sept. 8, Metro is making service adjustments on six Metrobus routes in D.C. and Maryland: the F6, F8, G14, R2, R12, and T14.

These changes will improve on-time performance, make departure times more convenient for students, and reflect a long-term detour in Langley Park associated with Purple Line construction.

Real-time bus information and trip planning tools have been updated to reflect the changes after Sept. 8. Customers may go to the timetablesor use Metro's Trip Plannerfor updated schedule information.

Metro's customer service team can also assist customers with trip planning. Representatives are available on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to provide real-time information onlineor by calling 202-637-7000.

Service Changes

F6 New Carrollton-Fort Totten

On weekdays, the eastbound trip scheduled to depart Hyattsville Crossing at 4:12 p.m. will be changed to depart at 3:10 p.m. to align with the Northwest High School dismissal time to reduce crowding.

F8 Langley Park-Cheverly

Schedule and real-time tracking information will reflect the long-term southbound Purple Line construction detour via New Hampshire Avenue in Langley Park.

G14 Greenbelt-Good Luck Road

Weekday, Saturday, and Sunday schedules have been updated.

On weekdays when school is in session, a new trip will depart New Carrollton at 2:50 p.m. to reduce crowding.

On Saturdays and Sundays, eastbound buses to New Carrollton will depart Greenbelt five minutes earlier, at 25 minutes past the hour instead of 30 minutes past the hour to improve on-time performance.

R2 Riggs Road

On weekdays, the southbound trip scheduled to depart High Point High School at 2:48 p.m. will be changed to depart at 2:33 p.m. to align with dismissal time and reduce crowding.

R12 Kenilworth Avenue

On Saturdays, northbound buses to Greenbelt will depart Deanwood 10 minutes earlier on the hour and southbound buses to Deanwood will depart Greenbelt two to five minutes later at five minutes past the hour.

T14 Rhode Island Avenue-New Carrollton

On Saturdays and Sundays, buses will depart New Carrollton and Rhode Island Avenue stations 12 minutes earlier, at 30 minutes past the hour to improve on-time performance.
