COPS for KIDS Registration begins October 14th

LAKELAND, FL - (September 17, 2024) The Lakeland Police Department will be accepting applications for the 2024 Cops for Kids Toy Donation program for four select days beginning on October 14, 2024. Parents or guardians needing assistance must register at one of the locations listed below.

REGISTRATION DATES AND TIMES

• Monday, October 14 from 9 AM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM

Lakeland Police Department, 219 North Massachusetts Avenue

• Tuesday, October 14 from 9 AM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM

Lakeland Police Department, 219 North Massachusetts Avenue

• Wednesday, October 15 from 9 AM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM

Simpson Park Complex, 1725 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue

Families registering must bring the following:

· Current Lakeland Electric Bill (Applicants must Have a Lakeland address)

· Photo ID

· Original Birth Certificate for Each Child

Registration does not guarantee acceptance, and applicants must not have received assistance from the program for the past two years.

TOY DONATIONS

Now in its 18th year, the Cops for Kids toy donation program, with the help of generous community donors, allows families to provide their children with a happy holiday. Beginning on Friday, November 1, 2024, new unwrapped toy donations for children up to 12 years of age can be dropped off at any of the following locations:

- Lakeland Police Department: 219 N. Massachusetts Avenue

- City Hall: 228 S Massachusetts Avenue

- Lakeland Public Libraries: 100 Lake Morton Drive, 1700 N. Florida Ave., 4740 S. Florida Ave.

- Kelly Recreation Complex: 404 Imperial Boulevard

- Mary's Bagel Café: 1242 N. Florida Avenue

Monetary donations are also accepted and can be mailed to:

Please note Cops for Kids on the memo line of your check or money order.

The deadline for donations is Saturday, December 5, 2024.

The toys collected will be given to parents at the annual Cops for Kids pick-up party scheduled for December. Kids in attendance will have their photos taken with Santa and enjoy a complimentary dinner.
