Neal Celebrates Second Anniversary of Transformative Biden-Harris Law

Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement celebrating the second anniversary of President Biden signing the Inflation Reduction Act into law:

"It's only been two years since President Biden changed the course of history with the Inflation Reduction Act, and we are already achieving what we set out to do. With inflation reaching its lowest level since March 2021, and employment remaining near record lows, we've proven the recession wish-casters wrong. Our economy is the envy of the world-and by no accident. So much of this historic law came right from Ways and Means Democrats, who never stop believing in the strength of the American worker while lighting the way for progress and prosperity.

"Despite our accomplishments, if given the chance, Republicans won't even balk at taking good-paying jobs away from their constituents, increasing health care costs, and protecting wealthy tax cheats so long as they can give another round of tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations. While we have proof of concept for a healthier, fairer, and more successful America, all they can offer is a one-way ticket backward. The Inflation Reduction Act represents the promise of tomorrow, with today shining much brighter thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats."
