Professor and Vice Dean Mor Armony Receives the 2024 Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) Distinguished Fellows Award

On July 2, 2024, Mor Armony, Vice Dean for Faculty and Research, Harvey Golub Professor of Business Leadership and Professor of Technology, Operations & Statistics, received the 2024 Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) Distinguished Fellows Award, which recognizes outstanding research and scholarship in operations management.

Armony was presented the award at the MSOM Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the event, she presented findings from three co-authored research papers exploring the effects of customer ownership on pooling queues across various industries, one of which was the focus of an article in The Wall Street Journal. She also shared her research philosophy, including the role of serendipity in research, and the interplay between theory and data.

Armony's primary research areas of interest include management of patient flow in healthcare, optimization of customer experience in contact centers, and general stochastic modeling of various operations. Her articles have appeared in numerous publications, including Management Science, Operations Research and Queueing Systems.
