Turn Lane Project Underway on Covington Road

A turn lane addition project is underway on Covington Road at the entrance of the Linn County District 1 Secondary Road shop located in the 2400 block of Covington Road. The project includes grading to widen Covington Road adjacent to the shop and asphalt paving to accommodate two new turn lanes, a left and right turn lane. The addition of the turn lanes will enhance safety due to the high number of trucks turning into the shop and reduce congestion because traffic will be able to continue while a truck is waiting to turn. The project is expected to last 4-5 weeks.

Covington Road will remain open to all traffic for the duration of the project but will be reduced to one lane at times with flaggers and pilot cars.

Drivers are reminded to comply with all traffic signs around construction projects. Do not drive around the barricades in place to protect the public and road crews.
