SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society - the nation's largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services - is featured in a new book aimed at sharing the strategies and characteristics of the country's most innovative skilled nursing providers. The book, titled Long Term Care Success: How Senior Care Communities Thrive Clinically and Financially, is authored by Mark Parkinson, former president of the American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), Dr. David Gifford, AHCA/NCAL chief medical officer and Rae Anne Davis, AHCA/NCAL chief strategic officer and SVP of administration.

Long Term Care Success combines real-world insights with actionable strategies, focusing on creating strong business foundations rooted in clinical excellence and purpose-driven care. The Good Samaritan Society is featured in two chapters for its strong mission and quality outcomes. The Society is top ranked for skilled nursing survey results among more than 170 AHCA members with at least 15 skilled nursing facilities.

"Mission-driven service and high-quality care go hand in hand at the Good Samaritan Society," said Good Samaritan Society president and CEO Nate Schema. "Our team members have a profound sense of calling for the important work we do, and it shines through the quality of care residents receive. Our mission and initiatives like the Sanford Accountability for Excellence (SAFE) program, create a culture of safety where our teams are empowered to bring their whole selves to work and understand the positive impact of their actions."

The AHCA/NCAL is the largest association in the U.S. representing long term and post-acute providers.
