National Assembly Delegation Visits China

A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus will be taking part in the 4th meeting of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, one of the biggest and highest legislative bodies in the People's Republic of China.

Marina Ragus stressed that his visit is of especial importance considering that it comes in the wake of the successful visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia and the deeply rooted steely friendship, adding that she believes it would reaffirm the well-established successful level of cooperation. She conveyed the greetings of Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, stressing that the Serbian National Assembly is resolved to advance its relations with the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

In addition to Serbian Ambassador to China Maja Stefanovic, the delegation was welcomed by the member of the Friendship Group and Committee on Diaspora of the National People's Congress Yan Ke who expressed belief that this visit would be conducive to a further development of relations between our two countries, adding that this was an opportunity for our delegation to learn more about the Chinese legislative system.

In addition to Deputy Speaker Ragus, the delegation also comprises Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy Snezana Paunovic, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government Dr Ugljesa Mrdic, as well as the advisor to the National Assembly Speaker Dr Mihajlo Jovanovic. Each of the delegation members will have a presentation on the topics within their purview with a view of furthering relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China.
