Clayton County Fire Station No. 15 Groundbreaking Ceremony

(Clayton County, GA) - Clayton County District 1 Commissioner Alaina Reaves and the Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services (CCFES) will host a groundbreaking for Fire Station No. 15 at 1950 Harper Dr., Lake City, GA., on Wed., Nov. 13, 2024, at 11 a.m.

The new 9,514 square-foot fire station is the first to be built using a new prototype design for future two-bay and three-bay fire stations in Clayton County. Fire Station No. 15 is being constructed within the city limits of Lake City as part of an agreement between Clayton County and the city of Lake City after CCFES assumed fire services for Lake City from the city of Morrow.

The $7.7 million, two-bay station will be paid for using Fire Funds collected by CCFES.

"The addition of Fire Station No. 15 marks a significant milestone in the relationship between Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services and the City of Lake City to provide its citizens the very best in Fire & Emergency Services," stated Interim Fire Chief Tim Sweat. "Despite numerous obstacles, we have delivered a new prototype facility that will enhance our response capabilities in Lake City and surrounding communities, allowing us to respond faster, serve more effectively, and foster closer connections with the citizens we protect."
