Man Shot in South Seattle’s New Holly Neighborhood

Police are investigating an early morning shooting in New Holly neighborhood.

Wednesday shortly after 1:00 a.m., 911 Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 6900 block of 37th Avenue South. Police arrived and found a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wounds to the leg.

Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable but serious condition.

The investigation revealed the victim was struck by gunfire while walking through John Little Park. No suspect was identified.

Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives will be leading the investigation.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. No suspect is in custody currently.
