Three Collegiate Students Selected as 2024 WFBF Event Ambassadors

Three collegiate students have been selected as Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Event Ambassadors. In the second year of this program, Sierra Bakke, Emi McCarville and Lashawna Vogel will use digital platforms to share highlights from the WFBF Annual Meeting & YFA Conference, Dec. 6-9, 2024 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells.

The goal of the ambassador program is to provide collegiate students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience covering an event while also having a strong social media presence for a unique audience. These positions require writing skills relevant to social media, the ability to capture and edit photos, an understanding of social media content creation and strategy, and an eye for capturing the most interesting stories within a fast-paced environment.

Sierra Bakke is a sophomore at UW-River Falls studying agricultural marketing communications with a minor in agribusiness. She grew up on her family's beef farm in central Wisconsin and is passionate about advocating for the agricultural industry.

Emi McCarville is a freshman at UW-Platteville studying agricultural education. She grew up on a dairy farm between Hollandale and Mineral Point. She is an active member in UW-Platteville's Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter as well as Iowa County Farm Bureau.

Lashawna Vogel grew up near Denmark, Wis. and is currently a senior at UW-River Falls studying agricultural marketing communications and minoring in agribusiness. She is the president of UW-River Falls Collegiate Farm Bureau and is involved in several other clubs focused on agriculture, communication, education and marketing. This past summer, Lashawna also served as WFBF's Communications Intern.
