Man Arrested for Reckless Conduct on Route 12 in Fox Lake, Illinois
Fox Lake, IL - The Fox Lake Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for 51-year-old Eric D. Walleck of the 1000 block of Hayden Dr. in unincorporated McHenry.
The Fox Lake Police Department became aware of threatening statements made on social media by Walleck offering a cash reward for the arrest of police officers.
On October 01, 2024, at 4:33 PM, Walleck observed a marked Fox Lake squad car traveling northbound on US Highway 12. In his attempt to catch up to the patrol vehicle, Walleck was recklessly weaving in and out of traffic while honking his horn and flashing his head lights. He eventually passed the patrol vehicle and abruptly turned his vehicle in front of the squad car while coming to an abrupt stop in the lane of traffic. The Officer activated the emergency lighting and initiated a traffic stop. Walleck immediately exited his vehicle and brandished a set of handcuffs in his hand. Walleck approached the officer and declared he was arresting her. The Officer ordered him to return to his vehicle for safety. He subsequently returned to his vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
On October 02, 2024, the Fox Lake Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Eric Walleck for Aggravated Assault to a Peace Officer 720 ILCS 5/12-2(b)(4.1) a class 4 felony, Aggravated Assault Motor Vehicle 720 ILCS 5/12-2(c)(7) a class 4 felony, Reckless Driving 625 ILCS 5/11-503(a)(1) a class A misdemeanor, and Fleeing to Elude 625 ILCS 5/11-204(a) a class A misdemeanor.
Eric Walleck was arrested at his residence in the 1000 block of Hayden Dr. in unincorporated McHenry on October 02, 2024, at 3:15 PM. He was transported to the Lake County Jail and is awaiting a First Appearance Court hearing at the Lake County Courthouse tomorrow.
