City of Sparks Partners with Moana Nursery on TreeMendous Sparks Program

Sparks, NV - The City of Sparks has partnered with Moana Nursery to offer Sparks residents a free Moana Grown tree. The TreeMendous Sparks program offers one free tree to 300 Sparks residents and aims to enhance green spaces, beautify neighborhoods, and increase the city's green cover.

Beginning August 12, 2024, Sparks residents may pick up a voucher for a free tree, valued at $99, from Sparks Parks and Recreation, 98 Richards Way. Offices are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents must show proof of Sparks residency with a valid driver's license and a current utility bill.

Three hundred vouchers will be available throughout the TreeMendous Sparks program, with 100 available each month in August, September, and October.

Residents may redeem their voucher and pick up their free tree from Moana Nursery in Sparks, 3397 Pyramid Way. The last day for residents to redeem their free tree voucher is November 21, 2024.

Six tree varieties will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, including Burgundy Belle Maple, Autumn Blaze Maple, Royal Raindrops Flowering Crag, Krauter Vesuvius Plum, Chanticlee Pear, and Redspire Pear. Residents are required to plant their tree.
