First of all, the "centrist" Walz doesn't even balk at being called a socialist. He even once said that "One person's socialism is another person's neighborliness."
Minnesotans must not think socialism is that neighborly, since the state's population growth has flatlined under Walz. A lot of people are moving out, but that's offset by illegal immigrants moving in, since Walz seriously loves illegal immigration.
No, I'm not exaggerating. Walz has made Minnesota a "sanctuary state" for illegal aliens, and even given them driver's licenses and "free" (actually taxpayer-paid) health care (an idea Kamala used to embrace but is now running from.) He's declared that America "owes them a debt of gratitude," and he said that if Trump built a 25-foot-high border wall, he would invest in a factory that makes 30-foot ladders.
Ironically, many of the illegal immigrants he loves so much came here because they were fleeing socialist dictatorships, which they apparently did not find all that neighborly.
Walz has also made Minnesota into a "gender transition sanctuary" where the state can take custody of children away from parents who object to letting their kids' genitals be mutilated.
He also made the state a sanctuary for unrestricted abortion, signing a bill legalizing it right up to the moment of birth and axing even the most reasonable restrictions, like a 24-hour waiting period.
For his discriminatory treatment of churches and faith-based schools, Walz has been sued and called "patently anti-religious." An attorney with the Thomas More Society said, "Governor Walz, a former teacher, gets an F in religious liberties."
During the pandemic, he not only imposed some of the most heavy-handed totalitarian lockdown policies, he created a hotline where people could report their neighbors to the government if they violated the policies by doing things like walking their dogs. Nothing says "neighborly" like ratting out your neighbors to the state for exercising the most basic freedoms.
In this era when most Americans are sick of racist DEI policies and wokeness, Walz has claimed that it's "insane" to be concerned about corporations imposing woke LGBTQ policies.
Walz also supports using government power and taxpayer money to impose the "Green New Deal" by forcing people into electric cars and phasing out fossil fuels.
Minneapolis was ground zero for the George Floyd riots. Walz allegedly dragged his feet for three days before sending in the National Guard to stop the rioting, burning and looting, claiming the city hadn't filed the proper paperwork, but he was actually in sympathy with the rioters.
That apparently runs in the family, since his daughter Hope used her inside info to inform the rioters of the Guard's plans so they could keep rioting and not flee any sooner than necessary.
And Walz's wife Gwen said she slept with the windows open so she could smell the burning tires during the BLM riots because she felt it was a 'touchstone moment."

This prompted several pundits to observe that Walz and Harris are a perfect fit: He let the rioters riot, and she raised money to help bail them out.
I could go on and on with this. In fact, I haven't even mentioned the accusations about a DUI…
Or the "Feeding Our Future" scandal, the biggest misappropriation of federal funds ($250 million) meant for feeding children during the pandemic that happened on his watch…
Or that Walz's military record that the Dems are boasting about has a side that they'd prefer to ignore, but that his comrades are up in arms over. They claim he joined the National Guard to enjoy the benefits, but as soon as the unit was about to be deployed to Iraq, he made a "backdoor deal" to get out and abandon them.
This article by John Hinderaker at the Powerline blog includes a number of charts to illustrate Walz's record in Minnesota that Harris wants to replicate. You can see for yourself what he's done for such issues as the crime rate (up), per capita GDP (down) and school test scores (down) compared to per-student spending (up.)

Hinderaker calls Walz a "small-minded, mean-spirited man," saying of his record in office, "It is every bit as bad as Joe Biden's and Kamala Harris's, possibly worse. He is a far-left ideologue whose character includes not one redeeming quality. As an American, I am horrified at the thought of him being close to the seat of power."
If you think that's harsh, consider that former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty called Walz "Bernie Sanders in hunting gear"…
…And Minnesota Rep. Tom Emmer, the GOP House Majority Whip, called Walz "a progressive nutbag" and "gym teacher activist" who totally agrees with Harris on killing our energy sector and who "doesn't belong in the White House."
