Shaheen Statement on President Carter’s 100th Birthday

"Billy and I wish our dear friend, President Jimmy Carter, a Happy 100th Birthday. I got my start in politics during President Carter's New Hampshire primary campaign in 1975 and I can still remember the excitement of listening to then-Governor Carter outline his vision for the country. Since then, Billy and I have been proud to call him a friend and continue to be inspired by his compassion for people. We admire his lifetime commitment to public service and are grateful for his legacy of work to make this country-and the world-a better place."
