Ambassador Tanee supports the latest Special Voluntary Return Programme for illegal migrants in the ROK with fine exemption of Korea Immigration Service

On 4 October 2024, Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, together with Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, Mrs. Sirirat Srichart, Thai Labour Attaché, and Mrs. Kanticha Laicharernkit, Consul as well as representatives of other Diplomatic Missions, which have got a lot of illegal migrants in the ROK, were invited by Mr. Yoo Seong-O, Director of Investigation and Enforcement Division, the Korea Immigration Service, to attend a briefing on the latest Special Voluntary Return Programme at the headquarters of the Korea Immigration Service.

Director Yoo asked the Royal Thai Embassy to promote this programme and encourage Thai illegal migrants in the ROK to apply for their voluntary return with KIS in order to get fine exemption during 30 September-30 November 2024. He also thanked the Royal Thai Embassy for organising the special passport service for Thais during 30 July - 15 October 2024.
