The Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Staff Development Specialist IV with the Emergency Services Communication Bureau located within the PUC. The successful applicant shall be responsible for assisting the Training Manager with the management and delivery of the statewide 9-1-1 emergency communications training program.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a Public Safety Answering Point environment, especially Next Generation 9-1-1, adult education practices and techniques, 9-1-1 call taking principles, public speaking, delivery of training to emergency communications personnel, and knowledge of audio-visual equipment and applications. The ability to teach in-person, remotely and hybrid is essential for this position. Candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preference is given to an applicant with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two (2) years staff development experience to include assessing training needs, developing training curricula, and implementing training programs for adults. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Part-time telework is permitted on non-training days.
Salary: The position is Pay Grade 22 ($47,174.40 -$65,832 annually)
