Iran – Second anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini (15 September 2024)

Two years after the death of Mahsa Amini and the start of the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement, France continues to stand with Iranian women in their fight for freedom.

With its feminist foreign policy, France remains dedicated and determined to combat and eliminate all forms of gender-based violence worldwide, especially violence against women and girls.

We will continue to promote the universalization of the Council of Europe's Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention), as it represents our most advanced international instrument to combat violence against women.
