City Clerk's Office Cautions Voters of Scam Election Texts

September 13, 2024 - The City of Midland Clerk's office has recently received complaints from voters concerned about text messages they've received regarding their voter registration status. Voters are cautioned not to click links or provide personal information to unverified sources.

It is common for third-party organizations to send election-related forms to voters by mail, email, or text message. These types of mail-in and online registration options have been available to voters for many years and are legal; however, when in doubt, voters can always go directly to the Michigan Voter Information Center website at www.michigan.gov/vote to check their voter registration status, register to vote, or update their voter registration.

Quick Election Information:

  • Election Day is Tuesday, November 5 with polls open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Early Voting is held at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library (1710 W. St. Andrews Road) and begins Saturday, October 26 and ends Sunday, November 3
  • Absentee ballot applications are available now for the 2024 General Election
  • Absentee ballots are expected to be available Thursday, September 26
  • Visit www.michigan.gov/vote to:
    1. Check a voter registration status
    2. Find a polling location
    3. See a sample ballot
    4. Complete and track an absentee ballot application
    5. Track if an absentee ballot has been sent or received
