CONGRESSMAN BENNIE THOMPSON ANNOUNCES DRA AWARDS TO THE TOWN OF GEORGETOWN AND THE TOWN OF SIDON

BOLTON, MS- Today, Congressman Bennie Thompson is pleased to announce significant Delta Regional Authority (DRA) awards to the Town of Georgetown and the Town of Sidon to support critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing water management and community resilience.

The Town of Georgetown has been awarded more than $870,000 to construct a state-of-the-art pumping station. This new facility will enable a new path to discharge treated wastewater, ensuring the town regains compliance with state standards. This project is essential for protecting public health and the environment while fostering sustainable growth in Georgetown.

The Town of Sidon has been awarded more than $760,000 to upgrade the community's water infrastructure. This project aims to improve operational efficiency and promote water conservation, ultimately alleviating financial burdens on households, enhancing service delivery, and contributing to the long-term resilience of Sidon.
