Lorraine McGowen and Will Stute Named to Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Lawyers List

Savoy Magazine named Orrick partners Lorraine McGowen and Will Stute among the Most Influential Lawyers in 2024 in recognition of their exceptional professionalism, protection of legal rights and community service.

A bankruptcy and restructuring advisor, Lorraine McGowen guides clients on consensual and non-consensual (in-court) insolvency matters, sovereign and municipal debt restructurings, and creditors' rights enforcement actions. She is a member of Orrick's Management Committee, a long-time leader of the firm's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiatives and a former Vice President and Board Member of the New York City Bar Association and currently co-chairs its Digital Technologies Task Force. She also serves on the Boards of Directors for the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession and the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, where she is chair of the board, and the Advisory Committees for Legal Outreach and the Vance Center for International Justice, where she is a co-chair. This is Lorraine's fourth time on Savoy's list.

Will Stute is a first-chair trial lawyer and business advisor who is nationally recognized for wins in courtrooms across the United States. Will's recent record includes three back-to-back wins for the NCAA - including the first to take on claims the NCAA is responsible for CTE in former college football players. He also won a patent infringement trial for Zynga in which Zynga's video games were alleged to have infringed a casino game manufacturer's patent. His courtroom successes have earned him titles such as CVN's Most Impressive Defense Verdict of 2022, 2023 Winning Litigator of the Year from the National Law Journal, and American Lawyer Litigator of the Year finalist for 2023.

Lorraine and Will also have been recognized as Minority Corporate Counsel Association Rainmakers.
