The London Court of International Arbitration is delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Nash as the new Director General, effective 1 January 2025. Kevin will succeed Professor Dr Jacomijn (Jackie) van Haersolte-van Hof, who has led the LCIA with exemplary dedication over the past ten years.
To quote LCIA Chairman Christopher Style, "Jackie's decade at the helm has been transformational. We want her successor to take the LCIA to the next level. So I am delighted that we've persuaded Kevin to rise to the challenge!"
"As the new Director General, Kevin brings a wealth of experience of international arbitration at the highest level, including a long and distinguished tenure at SIAC. Kevin's leadership will focus on reinforcing the LCIA's role as a global leader in international arbitration services, continuing to expand its reach, and ensuring that the institution remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency in dispute resolution. LCIA Deputy Chair James Castello, who presided over the search committee, confirmed that "the committee was impressed not only with Kevin's knowledge of arbitration but with his ability to promote arbitration's virtues to new users, while responding to the needs of existing users across a wide range of markets."
Kevin will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the LCIA's work, notably casework, business development and the management of the institution. He will focus on the promotion of the LCIA's services and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders in the legal and business communities strengthened by the support and experience of Deputy Director General Jamie Harrison. Paula Hodges, President of the LCIA Court comments: "I have no doubt that Kevin's deep experience as Registrar of SIAC will enable him to maintain Jackie's unstinting commitment to deliver a gold standard service to our users."
"I am honoured to take on the role of LCIA Director General which is a unique and rare opportunity in all of arbitration. I look forward to working with the talented team at LCIA to build on its 130 years of excellence, expand its global footprint, drive innovation and thought leadership, and deliver world-class case management services. It is a privilege to step into this legacy and lead the next phase for LCIA."
Outgoing Director General Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof notes: "Kevin's appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the LCIA, as the institution continues to grow its influence and adapts to the ever-changing landscape of international arbitration. Having known Kevin for many years, I am confident the organisation is in safe hands, and I wish him all the best!"
