A Day of Tech and Teamwork at the second meeting of the Applus+ Digital Community

On November 20, 2024, the Applus+ headquarters in Bellaterra buzzed with sparking ideas, as our Digital Community gathered for their second face-to-face meeting. A day filled with innovation, creativity and plenty of knowledge-sharing. The main focus? Driving forward our digital transformation, showcasing groundbreaking projects and fostering cross-division synergies.

The day kicked off with an opening by Joan Amigó, CEO of Applus+, followed by an update about the Digital Community's activities the last year. Dynamism defined the event, so the first break brought the first hands-on experience: 9 stands with interactive demos that ranged from a virtual assistant for real-world inspections to tools centred on automating workflows and managing EV charging.

Three technologies clearly drew the attention of all participants:

• AIDA:an AI-powered assistant, not unlike ChatGPT, but specifically designed to streamline complex processes within Applus+ with the utmost security, enhancing efficiency and decision-making.
• Chatbot Web/eDelivery:two solutions that improve accessibility and enhance overall user experience, an advanced AI chatbot with adaptive learning capabilities that ensure accurate and personalised interactions anytime, and a digital platform to streamline the secure exchange of information between the company and our clients.
• Computer Vision:a tool that leverages real-time visual data analysis to optimise operations. From quality control to safety inspections, it provides accuracy and insight, setting new standards for operational excellence.

Hands-on workshops

The afternoon kicked off with an engaging talk on the transformative power of artificial intelligence, not just as a tool but a game-changer, the possibilities. The highlight of the day were the workshops: all participants split into groups to tackle a challenge in half an hour. Each group had a leader and had to appoint a speaker to defend their conclusions.

Teams brainstormed everything from predictive analytics for equipment failures to intelligent e-commerce platforms. Each group brought their unique flavour and way of working. The activity was all about learning, connecting and pushing boundaries, all the things that make up the core of the Digital Community and its adaptative and flexible nature.

As the event wrapped up with a tour of our laboratories in Bellaterra, participants left with renewed inspiration and new colleagues to ping for engaging ideas and discussion to drive digitalisation deeper into Applus+.
