The Clarksville Street Department is about 60% complete with the construction of new sidewalks on Crossland Avenue.
This sidewalk runs along the south side of the road from Madison Street to Pageant Lane, and connects to the existing sidewalk and crosswalk network at both ends.
This sidewalk provides a safe connection to Moore Magnet Elementary School and the Montgomery County Complex, as well as restaurants along Madison Street.
The City-funded Crossland Avenue project has a total of 6,000 feet of sidewalks. As of December 15, 2024, 3,200 feet had been completed.
The 5-feet-wide sidewalks feature handicapped-accessible ramps, crosswalks, and retaining walls.
This sidewalk project is just one component of the much broader, Citywide Mayor's Transportation 2020+ master plan for improvements to highways and roads, intersections and traffic signalization, as well as sidewalks.
