Detectives Pursuing Strong Leads in Monday's Fatal Shooting

Homicide detectives are pursuing strong leads in Monday's 3:30 p.m. fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 41-year-old man in an alley off Hart and Creek Streets. Efforts are underway to notify his next-of-kin.

According to witnesses, they heard a gunshot and then saw a man fleeing the area on a moped. Officers found the victim lying in the alley with a gunshot wound to his torso. He died at the scene. The victim, who stayed in an encampment on Creek Street, had reportedly been accused of taking another man's moped.
