All Palm Beach County operations, including county parks and beaches, libraries, Palm Tran service and senior activities, will resume on Friday, Oct. 11, unless conditions change.

  • Palm Beach County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, Oct. 11.
  • Juno Beach Pier will remain closed due to expected high surf on Friday. Facilities, golf courses and Morikami opening hours may vary, please contact them before you visit. Residents are encouraged to follow signage and staff instructions to ensure safety.
  • Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office wants to remind motorists that all non-functioning traffic signals should be treated as a four-way stop.
  • Palm Beach International Airport experienced no major damage due to Hurricane Milton. Flight operations have resumed and the airport is open. Check your flight status with your airline prior to coming to the airport due to flight cancellations.
  • All Palm Tran Services including, fixed route bus service, Connection, Go-Glades, BusLink and the Port Saint Lucie Express will resume normal operations tomorrow Friday, Oct. 11. We thank you for your patience and understanding throughout the storm.
  • Discover is updating hotel availability for accommodations throughout the Palm Beaches. Please see the worksheet here: www.thepalmbeaches.com/severe-weather. The list's date range goes from Oct. 10-13. If you're planning to visit an attraction, museum or restaurant, contact them in advance as they may have temporarily closed or changed hours due to the weather conditions.
  • Palm Beach County opened five general population shelters, a pet-friendly shelter and a special needs shelter. Close to 1,000 individuals sought refuge in our 7 shelters overnight.
  • All county bridges will be fully operational this evening by 6 p.m.
  • All Solid Waste Authority (SWA) disposal facilities and operations will resume on Friday, Oct. 11. SWA teams are conducting damage assessments throughout the county.
    • Garbage collection will happen as scheduled.
    • Residents should separate their waste into different piles - garbage, recyclables, yard waste, bulk waste; home construction/demolition debris.
    • Residents are not limited to 6-cubic-yards of yard debris. This will be collected separately.
    • If there are any waste questions or concerns, call SWA customer service at 561-697-2700.
  • If you have any storm-related questions, the Emergency Information Center is accepting calls at 561-712-6400.
  • All Palm Beach County courthouses will be closed on Friday, Oct. 11, for Yom Kippur.
