President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Engineering City

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Engineering City and got acquainted with the work done over the past two years.

Accompanied by Aram Salatyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Engineering Association of Armenia, and Bagrat Yengibaryan, the Director of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation, the President toured the Engineering City, got acquainted with the capabilities of the only supercomputer in the region so far called "Aznavour".

Bagrat Yengibaryan and Aram Salatyan presented the current work, upcoming projects and current problems to the President of the Republic during a working meeting held in the Engineering City.

During the meeting, the importance of expanding the use of high technologies in both local and national spheres and directions was noted.

Issues related to the implementation of necessary steps and measures for the full realization of Armenia's potential in high-tech and related fields were discussed.

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the most powerful data processing center in Armenia, launched by the telecommunication company "GNC-ALFA" (OVIO) in May this year.

Accompanied by Hayk Faramazyan, General Director of "GNC-ALFA" CJSC, the President toured the center and got acquainted with the capabilities of it.

The data center is built in accordance with the international TIER III reliability standard, which features advanced capabilities such as double data replication, power supplied from two electrical substations, a backup cooling system, and uninterrupted operation during maintenance and upgrades, and other advantages.

The investment program for the Data Processing Center was approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and is part of the 'Infrastructure for Investment' support program of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
