At Torrens University, the mission is clear: foster innovation and empower graduates with skills crucial for success in a digital-first future.
The university recently announced its status as an Adobe Creative Campus - a designation that brings it closer to this goal by boosting alumni employability as they embark on their professional journeys. With this partnership, students at Billy Blue College of Design will receive comprehensive access to Adobe Creative Cloud, including six months of access after graduation. All Torrens University students will also receive premium access to Adobe Express.
The partnership has strengthened the university's efforts to enhance the academic experience, preparing students to meet the demands of the future workforce and encouraging them to innovate with confidence. Access to Adobe Express will also provide students with versatile tools for creating compelling content, fostering their digital literacy skills and creative capabilities.
With simplified access to essential tools at their fingertips, students will acquire essential digital skills that are highly sought after in today's job market. They will be well-prepared for future career challenges and can earn certifications that demonstrate their expertise to potential employers.
"Today's design students are not just designers; they are storytellers at the cutting edge of innovation," said Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside, executive dean of design and creative technology. "With Adobe's advanced tools, such as Creative Cloud and Adobe Express, our students can craft compelling narratives and present their ideas in transformative ways."
"At Torrens University, we don't merely adopt the latest technology; we integrate it deeply into our curriculum. By embedding Adobe's leading tools into our programs, we enable students to master modern communication techniques - like video, podcasts, webpages, and data visualisation - ensuring they are fully equipped to meet the evolving demands of their future careers," said Thompson-Whiteside.
University students will also benefit from Adobe Firefly's latest generative AI features, gaining insights into how this transformative technology is shaping the future of education and industry. But that's not all - by using these incredible tools, students have the opportunity to earn Adobe-certified badges and showcase their newfound skills in creating stunning presentations, engaging social media content and more.
Darryn Melrose, chief marketing officer & industry partnerships, emphasised the importance of digital literacy for all students.
"At Torrens, we provide top-notch tools to support learning wherever students are - whether they are at home or on the move. This university-wide initiative highlights Torrens University's commitment to integrating technology and creativity into the educational experience, ensuring students are well-prepared for the rapidly evolving digital landscape," said Melrose.
