CABEI promotes sea turtle conservation and beach cleanup in Guatemala

Guatemala City, November 12, 2024.- In an effort to protect marine biodiversity and promote sustainable tourism, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) held a conservation day at Monterrico Beach, Guatemala. During the event, hundreds of olive ridley and hawksbill turtle hatchlings were released into their natural habitat, while volunteers collected a large amount of waste on the beach.

This initiative, which involved the participation of more than 45 employees and their families, seeks to raise awareness of the importance of protecting endangered marine species and maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems. The beach cleanup not only benefited the sea turtles, but also contributed to improving water quality and promoting a cleaner environment for local communities.

This action reaffirms CABEI's commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation in Guatemala. Through initiatives such as this one, the Bank seeks to promote responsible tourism that values and preserves the country's natural resources. We invite everyone to join this effort and take action to protect our oceans and coasts.
