Human Resources and Workforce Strategy will not implement a salary threshold increase after a federal judge in the east district of Texas recently struck down the Biden administration's Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime rule.
The rule, which was set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2025, would have raised the minimum salary threshold on various professional staff positions at Boise State that were currently under review. The final rule also included automatic updates to the minimum salary threshold every three years.
While subject to appeal, the court's decision eliminates the scheduled increase and future automatic updates.
Boise State is committed to ensuring compliance with federal labor standards and will continue to monitor any developments related to FLSA regulations. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
