Annual Street Maintenance: Micro Surfacing/Slurry Seal Treatment to Begin!

Micro Surfacing, also known as Slurry Seal, work will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Micro Surfacing, also known as Slurry Seal, involves applying a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate (small, crushed rock), and additives to existing asphalt pavement. This process creates a protective "seal" on the pavement surface.

The work will be carried out in 4 phases starting Tuesday morning, September 3rd. (Weather Pending) Contractors will have flaggers and staff on-site to direct traffic. Please be prepared for possible delays as only one-half of the road will be treated at a time.

To help with this project, we ask residents to avoid driving through the freshly applied material, which will take about 2-6 hours to set. You may need to park elsewhere until the lanes are reopened for traffic. Please avoid tight turning or turning your steering wheel while not moving until the material cures in about 3-5 days.

Contractors will begin placing door hangers in the affected areas on Monday, September 2nd.

Please follow the City website and the Public Works Activity Map for the most up-to-date information.

Thank you for your cooperation!
