The FASEB journals are proud to share that Richard I. Levin, MD, Referral Editor for both The FASEB Journal and FASEB BioAdvances, has been recognized with a Special Recognition Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) as part of the 2024 AAMC Awards. This honor acknowledges Dr. Levin's remarkable contributions to medical education, clinical care, and humanism in medicine.

As a key figure in the FASEB journals' distinguished editorial boards, Dr. Levin plays a critical role in maintaining the journals' high standards of excellence. His contributions ensure that our journals continue to publish cutting-edge research in the biological and biomedical sciences, offering invaluable insights to the scientific community. Through his leadership and expertise, the FASEB journals are dedicated to upholding the highest standards and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the field.

Beyond his role with the FASEB journals, Dr. Levin has had a distinguished career promoting patient-centered care and humanism in medicine. Before retiring in 2023, he led the Arnold P. Gold Foundation as president and CEO, expanding its focus to relationship-centered care across health professions and strengthening its partnership with the AAMC.

Dr. Levin's contributions to medical education and patient care, including roles as vice dean at NYU and dean at McDill University, earned him the AAMC's Special Recognition Award. He will be honored during a virtual ceremony on Oct 30, further highlighting our journals' commitment to editorial excellence with leaders like Dr. Levin on its board.
