Wolf Creek NFH Hosts 15th Annual Senior Fishing Event

Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery hosted the 15th Annual Catch A Smile Senior Fishing event with over 120 participants, ages 62+. The day began with a morning of trout fishing on Hatchery Creek, with several of the participants catching their limit. The seniors were treated to a cook-out style lunch consisting of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pasta salad, cookies, and drinks. In addition to lunch, each participant won an outdoor-themed prize such as bird feeders, camping chairs, tackle boxes, coolers, etc. Following lunch and door prizes, staff shuttled the anglers back to the parking lot to help them unload their catch and winnings, while others headed back to Hatchery Creek to try their luck again!

We would like to thank the many sponsors and volunteers that make this event possible including Tyson Foods that cooked all of the burgers and hotdogs for our fall derbies, and the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Inc.who planned much of the event and provided the door prizes and food!
