In her keynote, SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Linda Powell outlines the continuous work under the union's Four Pillars of Change Initiative.

The U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau hosted the Gender-Based Violence and Harassment in Focus Summit in Washington, D.C., on June 18. In attendance were SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Linda Powell and Chief Labor Policy Officer and New York Local Executive Director Rebecca Damon.

Powell's keynote speech at the summit centered on SAG-AFTRA's multifaceted approach to preventing and addressing gender-based violence and harassment within the entertainment industry. She detailed the tools developed under the Four Pillars of Change Initiative, such as the SAG-AFTRA Safe Place app and collaborations with other industry stakeholders, including on-set intimacy coordinators.

"As you can see from our successes, systemic change is possible - especially with the leverage and power of a unionized workforce committed to making working conditions more just and equitable. We are the change-makers and, with solidarity, we can make life better for the next generation of workers," said Powell.

The Women's Bureau supports policies and standards safeguarding the interests of working women and advocates for the equality and economic security of women and their families.
