NOPD Investigating Homicide in Second District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning (June 29, 2024) in the 1200 block of Monroe Street.

Second District officers responded to a call of shots fired and upon arrival discovered two adults in the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and pronounced both victims, one adult male, and one adult female deceased at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
