Congressman Thompson Announces U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Grants to Yalobusha General Hospital and North Sunflower Medical Center

BOLTON, MS- Today, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded two significant grants to recipients within Mississippi's Second Congressional District. The grants, totaling $1,625,000, are part of the Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending program aimed at supporting construction and development in healthcare facilities.

The grant details are as follows:

  • Yalobusha General Hospitalhas been awarded $591,000 for Community Project Funding to enhance healthcare services for the local community.
  • North Sunflower Medical Centerhas received an award of $1,034,000 under the Community Project Funding initiative aimed at improving healthcare and services for residents.

These investments in healthcare facilities underscore the federal government's commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare services in rural and underserved communities. The funding will support critical construction projects, enabling these hospitals to better serve the health needs of their respective areas.
