Risk assessment, mitigation and adaptation are essential to protect human health

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - Heat-related deaths have increased by 85%for people over the age of 65. The historically hot temperatures this year underscore the urgency for climate action now.

Experts at nonprofit research institute RTI International are available for media interviews related to extreme heat in the U.S. and around the world. RTI researchers recently published this article on extreme heat and the need for urgent climate action.

Aleisha Khanis a senior climate advisor for RTI's International Development Group. She supports the cross-institute integration of research and international programs to tackle the global challenge of climate change.
