The Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) administers a recognition program called "Future of the Field." The program recognizes research administrators who are less than 15 years into their careers and are making a significant impact on the field of research administration. This year, two Illinois State University (ISU) employees, Eva Harrison and Catrina Murphy, were selected to receive this prestigious recognition.

Winners of this prestigious award were selected from over 100 nominations that SRAI received from around the world. Nominees were evaluated based on their career history, demonstrated professional growth, and significant contributions made to the advancement of research administration.

"The individuals recognized through Future of the Field are some of the best and brightest in our profession," said SRAI President Gloria W. Greene. "Embrace this recognition, believe in yourself, and continue striving for excellence. The future is bright, and you are poised to make a remarkable impact in your field!"

Harrison began her career at ISU in 2017 with the now defunct Grants Accounting Department. In March 2019, Harrison made the move to the Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) department. Later that same year, in December 2019, Murphy also started her career at ISU in the RSP department. During their time at ISU, both Harrison and Murphy have become leaders in their field.

Harrison and Murphy, along with the other Future of the Field honorees will be formally recognized at SRAI's annual meeting this October in Chicago.
