Community Resources to hold 'Welcome Fayetteville' Sept. 5

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - As part of Welcoming Week NWA, the City of Fayetteville Community Resources Department will host "Welcome Fayetteville," a free event aimed at providing an opportunity for community members to interact and learn about City programs and services.

The event will be held 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, on the Arvest Bank Plaza on the north side of Fayetteville's Downtown Square. Welcome Fayetteville is open to the public and is being held in conjunction with First Thursday Fayetteville, a free monthly arts and culture festival on the square put on by Experience Fayetteville.

During Welcoming Week NWA, regional organizations and communities bring together neighbors of all backgrounds to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places and experiences in achieving collective prosperity and belonging for all.

City staff from the following departments and offices will be on hand to provide information and answer questions:

  • Animal Services
  • City Clerk
  • Code Compliance
  • Economic Vitality
  • Police
  • Human Resources
  • Long Range Planning
  • Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs
  • Recycling and Trash Collection

Also, there will be interactive games, giveaway items and free face-painting - for kids and adults!
