Pothole Palooza 2024, a city-wide effort to patch roads before winter sets in, is in full swing.

The City of Santa Fe's Public Works Department is conducting night-time operations throughout the city to patch potholes with various materials including Hotmix Asphalt and Perma Patch bagged material.

They are working extended hours and focusing on closing out constituent requests and proactively addressing asphalt maintenance.

During this round, in addition to pothole patching, road crews crack seal certain streets to extend the life of the pavement.

Crack sealing is being undertaken on St. Michael's Drive and will soon begin on Upper Canyon Road.

Crack sealing greatly assists in preventing water penetration into the pavements and subsurface reducing the potential for pothole formation and asphalt degradation.

The nighttime operation for this project minimizes hazards such as heavy traffic.
