State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 9/26- 10/3

On September 27, 2024, at about 8:39 p.m. State Police at the Capital stopped a vehicle on I-787 in Albany, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Michael F. Rafun, 53 of Troy, NY. Rafun was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Capital for processing where he recorded a 0.20% BAC. Rafun was issued tickets returnable to the to Albany City Court on October 28, 2024, and released.

On September 27, 2024, at about 11:12 p.m., State Police of Greenwich was conducting an investigation and observed a vehicle drive and park at a business in the area of Broadway in Fort Edward, NY. The driver, who did not have a valid driver's license, was interviewed and identified as Robert G. Dickinson, 59, of Fort Ann, NY. Dickinson was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations following the interview. He was transported to SP Greenwich for processing, where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood. Further investigation discovered Dickinson has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Fort Edward Town Court on October 17, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On September 29, 2024, at about 2:05 a.m. State Police of Cobleskill stopped a vehicle on I-88 in Richmondville, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Moshe Yarom, 38, of Albany, NY. Yarom was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing, where he recorded a 0.14% BAC. Further investigation determined that Yarom has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Richmondville Town Court on November 13, 2024, and released.

On September 30, 2024, at about 10:10 a.m. State Police of Queensbury stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Queensbury, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as John W. Shea, 48, of Lake George, NY. Shea was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Queensbury, where he recorded a 0.29% BAC. Shea was issued tickets returnable to the Queensbury Town Court on October 14, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On September 30, 2024, at about 5:11 p.m., State Police of Clifton Park responded to the reports of a vehicle off the roadway in the area of Grooms Road in Clifton Park, NY. The driver was identified as Curtis J. Hovey, 47 of Cohoes, NY. Hovey was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.28% BAC. Hovey was issued tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court and released to a sober third party.

On October 2, 2024, at about 8:00 p.m., State Police of Granville stopped a vehicle on State Route 4 in Whitehall, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Joseph E. Senecal, 29, of Fair Haven, VT. Senecal was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Granville for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC. Senecal was issued tickets returnable to the Whitehall Town Court on October 9, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
