Beginning Oct. 17, users will be prompted for an additional step to authenticate with Duo when logging into Microsoft 365 applications (email, Teams, etc.).
What is changing?

On Oct. 17, users will no longer be automatically redirected to Duo when logging into Microsoft 365.

Instead, users must manually click the "Approve with Duo" button when prompted to verify their identity.

After clicking "Approve with Duo", users will be redirected to the Duo Universal Prompt as normal.
Why this change?

This change makes CSU's Microsoft 365 authentication compliant with Microsoft's new multi-factor authentication expectations and allows the Division of IT to better protect CSU Microsoft accounts from fraudulent authentication attempts.
What is not changing?

User access to Microsoft 365 applications and data will not change.

User's Duo devices and other settings will not change.
