Mobile, Ala. - On Monday, Oct. 21, the Mobile Tennis Center and Dream Court will celebrate the final tennis clinic of 2024 for local players with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dream Court, Inc., is a non-profit organization based in Montgomery, Alabama, that provides adaptive tennis programs for individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Over the last six weeks, volunteers working with Dream Court and Dream Court athletes have come together at the Mobile Tennis Center for a series of free, adaptive tennis clinics for Mobilians.

While the Mobile Tennis Center has offered similar adaptive tennis clinics in the past, this is the facility's first season partnering with Dream Court. This new collaboration has allowed these clinics to grow and serve a broader range of local tennis players. Roughly 25 athletes regularly attend Dream Court clinics, which are supported by more than 50 local volunteers.

Some of the volunteers include University of South Alabama medical students, occupational therapy students, tennis players from local high schools and adult leagues and other community members. Dream Court has provided a foundation that will be easy to build upon in future seasons, and the Mobile Tennis Center is excited to see the program grow and serve even more local players.

Members of the media are invited to attend this year's final Dream Court Tennis Clinic on Monday, Oct. 21. The clinic begins at 6 p.m., and representatives from the Mobile Tennis Center and Dream Court will be available to discuss the program and this successful new partnership.
